2014: Played in seven games, including matchups at Stanford and Cal Poly... Recorded tackles in back-to-back games against Ft. Lewis and Colorado State.

2013: Redshirted.

MURRIETA MESA HS: Posted 38 tackles, including 7 sacks and 3 TFLs during his senior season in 2012 for Murrieta Mesa HS... Averaged 6.3 tackles per game overall... Had a pair of sacks as a junior... Was a starter in 2010, the program's first at the varsity level... Started three years at defensive end... Two-year varsity letterman in track and field in 2011 and 2012... League finalist in the shot put as a sophomore and junior.

PERSONAL: Born in Concord, Calif... Majoring in sociology...Parents are Jess and Monique Ayala... Biggest personal accomplishment was being one of the first student-athletes at his high school to earn a scholarship to a Div. I institution... Best player he's faced is current USC safety Su'a Cravens... Hopes to become a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon.
