2018: ALL-BIG SKY THIRD TEAM selection… PHIL STEELE THIRD TEAM ALL-BIG SKY CONFERENCE selection… CAPTAIN’S AWARD recipient, presented by the team’s captains to honor an Aggie’s work ethic, spirit and contributions to the program… His 66 tackles were the third-highest among all Aggies… Thirty-seven of those tackles were solo… Recorded a tackle for loss at Cal Poly (10/20) and at Eastern Washington (12/8)… Intercepted a pass at San José State (8/30) and in the team’s playoff game at EWU… Of his seven breakups, a season-high two took place against San Diego (9/8) and Sacramento State (11/17)… Also earned a PBU at SJSU, at Northern Colorado (10/5) and in UC Davis’ FCS home playoff game versus Northern Iowa (12/1)… Earned a quarterback hurry at Stanford (9/15).
2017: Played in all 11 games... Finished with 47 total tackles, 34 solo and 13 assisted... Ranked fifth among all Aggies in total tackles and second in solo tackles... Recorded a sack for a loss of eight yards against San Diego (9/9)... Collected a career-high nine tackles at Northern Arizona (seven solo) (10/21), including one tackle for loss... Finished with 2.5 tackles for a loss of 11 yards... Earned seven PBUs and intercepted one pass.
2016: Started all 11 games... Finished with a total of 35 tackles (24 unassisted) and six broken passes... One of 12 Big Sky players to record a pick-six throughout the season, thanks to his interception against Northern Colorado (10/12)... Recorded a season-high six tackles (four unassisted) at Eastern Washington (10/7).
2015: Played in three games, which included a start at Hawai'i (9/19)... Recorded six tackles, picking up four stops (all solo) in opener at Nevada (9/3)... Received a medical hardship waiver.
2014: Played in all 11 games as a true freshman... Posted 12 total tackles (11 unassisted), highlighting his season with four tackles against Ft. Lewis and three at Northern Arizona... All of his tackles in those two games were unassisted... Assisted with LB Travon Brooks on a stop at Stanford before collecting solo tackles throughout the rest of the season.
EASTLAKE HS '14: Versatile athlete earned 2013 All-Mesa League first team and Offensive Player of the Year honors... Named to the All-CIF San Diego Section's first team defense... Named a finalist for the 2013 Prep Pigskin Report Silver Player of the Year... Helped lead Eastlake HS to a section title while earning all-league first team and second team All-CIF honors as a defensive back... Earned all-league second team accolades as a sophomore... Rushed for 737 yards and 13 touchdowns, caught 15 passes for 391 yards and six touchdowns as a senior... Finished with 1,565 all-purpose yards that year... Posted 36 total tackles, including 28 solo throughout his final season at EHS... Team posted a collective record of 29-8 over this three varsity seasons... Received three Scholar-Athlete awards from the
San Diego Union-Tribune as a member of his school's football and track teams.
PERSONAL: Born in San Diego... Parents are Raul and LaCausha Olave... Volunteered in San Diego with elementary school children as a mentor and tutor... Plans to play in the NFL, become a coach, athletic trainer or sports doctor... Sports hero is Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.
