2014: Played in 10 games as a true freshman, starting six, including opener at Stanford... Also got starting nod at Colorado State and in Causeway Classic against Sacramento State... Finished with 11 tackles, getting a season-high three against Montana State... Had two assisted stops versus the Cardinal, including a half-sack.

CHANDLER (Ariz.) HS'14: Earned pair of varsity letters on the defensive line at Chandler HS... Named Arizona All-State Div. I honorable mention last season after compiling 62 total tackles, including 43 solo... He opened the season strong with 10 tackles against Centennial HS and later posted nine stops against Perry HS... Also forced a fumble and recovered two... Had 25 total tackles, including a pair of sacks in 2011... Selected as a team captain for his senior season and received The Wolf Award at Chandler HS, considered one of the school's most prestigious honors... Also wrestled one year at Chandler HS.

PERSONAL: Born in Casa Grande, Ariz... Has not declared a major... Parents are Timothy and Vicki Hoyt... Is the youngest of five children... His cousin, Jared Johnson, was an offensive lineman at Purdue... Has volunteered with Special Olympics and The Two Cents Project homeless outreach program... Would like to visit Israel... Despite being a lineman, says he doesn't love eating a lot of food... Non-sports hero is his mom.
