GAME NOTES
- Season Record: The Aggies are 17-5 on the season and 13-1 in conference play. Last weekend, the club became the first team in the Big West Conference to secure a spot in the postseason tournament after securing a sweep over UC Irvine on Friday and beating Cal State Fullerton in four on Saturday.
- Among The Best In The Nation: Now up to 13 conference wins, the Aggies have continually climbed the NCAA RPI rankings throughout the season. Davis enters the week at #54 in the nation, maintaining their ranking from last weekend.
- Gunning Towards Aggie History: Cal Aggie Hall of Famer Kathy DeYoung set the precedent for UC Davis volleyball with 169 career victories, a program record that has stood for nearly 40 years. Now, head coach Dan Conners is closing in on that milestone, currently at 168 career wins — just two shy of becoming the winningest coach in program history.
- Conference Record: In last Saturday's win against Cal State Fullerton, UC Davis tied a program record with 13 conference wins, a mark that was previously set in the record-breaking 2024 season. With four games remaining on the docket, the Aggies have a chance to break that record this Friday when they travel to Long Beach.
- Big West Standings: At 13-1 in Big West play, the Aggies continue to outpace Cal Poly at 12-2 in the standings to hold the top spot in the conference. With Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara each at 10-4, the Aggies are guaranteed a top-four spot in the Big West Tournament.
- Big West Player of the Week Awards: After entering the season with no Big West weekly honors, attacker Jade Light secured her third Big West Player of the Week award last Monday after leading the offense with 31 kills across two matches last week. At UC Irvine, she grabbed a season-high 20 digs to go along with 13 kills for her eighth double-double of the year before securing 18 more kills against the Titans the next day.
- Block Party: Middle Blockers Ally Chandler and Allie Caldwell have set the Aggies up for success on the defensive side of the net, with Caldwell sitting in first place with 86 blocks and Chandler close behind with 85. Each player also ranks in the top ten in the conference in blocks per set, with Caldwell sitting in first (1.28) and Chandler ranking seventh (1.05). With four regular-season games remaining, the duo looks to become the first pair of Aggies to have 100 or more blocks in a season since 2014.
- Super Setter: Senior Haden Bones has taken a step up as a defensive specialist in 2025, leading the Aggies with 29 service aces on the season, also ranking third in the conference in aces per set (0.36)
- Leading Libero: In her first season as the Aggies libero, Ximena Cordero Barr has been a difference maker for the defense, protecting the backcourt with 362 digs on the season. The former All-Freshman also ranks second in the Big West Conference with 4.47 digs per set.
- A Starr On The Court: After being named an All-Big West Honorable Mention a year ago, Mia Starr continues to impress in her junior season, putting up 839 assists and surpassing 2,500 assists in her career earlier this season. Among Big West setters, she ranks first with 10.36 assists per set.
- Breakout Season: After spending last season battling injuries, third-year player Brooke Hibino has started to shine for the Aggies, currently ranking fourth on the team with 167 kills on the year. Against Santa Barbara earlier this season, she set a new career-high with 18 kills in a five-set comeback win.
- National Rankings: With productive seasons under their belts, Ally Chandler and Mia Starr both rank in the top 25 in national categories this year. Chandler ranks 18th in the country with a hitting percentage of .416, while Starr is 22nd in assists per set at 10.36.
