March 30, 2017 DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis men's and women's track & field returns to action in a trio of Northern California meets, with select distance and middle distance delegations heading to the Stanford Invitational and San Francisco State Distance Carnival, while the majority of the Aggies will compete at Sacramento State's Mondo Challenge.
Live results for the Distance Carnival are available via
Red Cap Timing. Live results for the Stanford Invitational are available via
Record Timing. UC Davis last competed in a split weekend consisting of the UNLV Invitational and the Hornet Invitational, although a small contingent celebrated the end of final exams with appearances at the American River Invitational on March 24. Meanwhile, freshman
Kierra Davis earned Big West Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors for her efforts in Las Vegas. She ranks third in the Big West Conference in the 200 (23.84) and fifth in the 100 (11.86) with her marks at that meet. High jumper
Erinn Beattie places the Big West Conference in the high jump with her 1.76-meter, or 5-foot, 9.25-inch effort at Sacramento State back on March 17. That mark tied the school record she already shared with
Katie Barber (2015). UC Davis also leads the league in the 4x100 relay due to its 45.63 at UNLV. Senior
Emma Redick is yet another conference leader, thanks to her 1:00.24 in the 400 hurdles in Las Vegas. She remains one of just five Aggies ever to break the one-minute mark in that event, and the fastest in the event since Kameelah Elarms established the school benchmark of 58.82 back in 2001. Seniors
Alex Grigoriev and
Rianna Goins, part of the five-person crew heading to Stanford this weekend, each rank second in the Big West in their respective 800s. Grigoriev went 1:49.31 at the Sacramento State Invite on March 17, while Goins shares the No. 2 spot with teammate
Mikaela Adolphus with their season-best times of 54.84. UC Davis also boasts the No. 2 conference performers in the triple jumps. Sophomore
Drew Xandrine-Anderson's wind-aided 15.39 meters (50-6) from the Cal Opener sits behind only Cal State Fullerton's Anthony Applequist. Freshman
Emem Ibekwe went 12.02m (39-5.25) back on March 11, second by mere inches to another Titan, senior Ty'Jalayah Robertson (12.08m/39-7.75). A summary of UC Davis entrants into the two Bay Area meets is listed below. The Mondo Invitational field has yet to be finalized; check back at www.ucdavisaggies.com for updates on that meet.
