DAVIS, Calif. — Following her historic championship performance at the Big West Championships, junior
Kylee Davis is officially bound for Fayetteville, Arkansas, to represent UC Davis at the NCAA West Preliminary Round. Earning the first NCAA postseason qualification of her career, Davis will compete at John McDonnell Field tomorrow, Thursday, May 28, with the women's long jump scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. PT (6:30 p.m. CT).
Davis earned her inaugural trip to the NCAA Prelims by capturing the individual conference crown at the Big West Track and Field Championships. Her gold-medal winning mark of 6.26m set a massive lifetime-best, catapulting her to the No. 2 spot in the UC Davis women's outdoor record book and cementing her status as one of the premier jumpers in the region.
The NCAA West First Round features the top 48 long jumpers in the region, with competitors looking to secure a coveted spot in the top 12 of Thursday's field to punch their ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, held from June 10-13.
