2018 XC: BIG WEST ALL-CONFERENCE… BIG WEST ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 9/24… Top UC Davis runner in every meet of the season… Finished in the top-15 overall at three of his six meets... Crossed the finish eighth at the Bill Dellinger Invite 8K in Oregon to earn first career Athlete of the Week… Also placed 13th at the Capital Cross Challenge 8K in Sacramento, and sixth at the Big West Championships in Brea, Calif… Earned second consecutive All-Conference nod… Represented the Aggies at the NCAA West Regionals in Sacramento, finishing 67th with a time of 30:52.8.
2018 T&F: Ran the 1,500, 3,000, and 5,000 meter events over a span of six meets… Posted the top Aggie marks in both the 3,000 and 5,000 for the season with times of 8:39.72 and 14:37.99, respectively… Placed seventh overall in the 5,000 at the Big West Track and Field Championships.
2017 XC: Competed in four of the five regular season meets, and made appearances at both the Big West Conference Championships and the NCAA West Regionals… Was the first runner to cross the line in the season-opening Aggie Open with a 6K time of 18:41, and was the first Aggie to cross the line at both the Capitol Cross Challenge and the Penn State Open with 8K times of 24:26.9 and 26:03, respectively… At the Big West Conference Championships, he finished eighth overall at 24:45.8, and concluded his season at the NCAA West Regionals with a 31:01.1 10K time.
2017 T&F: All-Big West Conference performer in the 5000, placing second... Posted a forty second PR in winning the event at Aggie Open (14:34.63)... Also finished seventh in the 10000... Hit lifetime best of 30:28.00 at San Francisco State Distance Carnival... Runner-up at Causeway Classic in the 1500 (3:55.58).
2016 XC: Competed in six of the team's seven meets on the season and was first across the line for the Aggies in all six... Finished among the top 15 in four of his six starts, including winning the season-opening Aggie Open with a time of 18:17... Also finished eighth at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational in a career-best 8K time of 23:55.6... Ended the day ninth at the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Oregon with a time of 24:55, and was 12th at the Capital Cross Challenge with a time of 24:10.3... Represented the Aggies at the Big West Conference Championships in Honolulu, finishing 23rd overall with a time of 26:02.7, and ended up 48th over the 10K course at the NCAA West Regionals, posting a career-best time of 30:39.0.
2016 T&F: Finished ninth in the 10000 (31:50.49) and sixteenth in the 5000 (15:14.93) at the Big West Championships... Posted top-three finishes at Causeway Classic in the 3000 (8:36.39) and Woody Wilson Classic in the 5000 (15:44.64).
2015 XC: Competed in four meets for the Aggies, including earning a spot in the lineup for the Big West Conference Championships and the NCAA West Regionals... Finished 35th at the Big West meet with a time of 25:45.42 to help the Aggies to a third-place finish... Posted a 10K time of 33:44.9 at the NCAA Regionals to help UC Davis to a 13th-place finish... Crossed the line in a career-best 8K time of 25:16.9 at the Capital Cross Challenge on Oct. 3... Also traveled with the team to the NCAA Pre-Nationals meet in Louisville, Ky., finishing with a time of 25:42.0 to help the Aggies to a second-place team finish.
BIRMINGHAM HS '15
Ran three years of cross country, helping the Patriots to the 2013 league title and earning CIF All-City Section honors with a third-place finish (15:29.12) as a junior as Birmingham also finished third as a team... Also finished fifth at the CIF meet as a senior in 2014... Posted top times of 15:10 in the 3-mile and 15:57 in the 5K... Earned all-league honors on the track in the 1600m and the 3200m in 2015... Earned CIF All-City Section honors in the 1600m after a third place finish... Other top times included 9:02 in the 3K and 4:12 for the 1500m... Helped the Patriots to a fifth-place team finish as the CIF City Section finals on the track as a senior.

Parents are Guillermo and Ilda... Has an older sister, Lizette, and a younger brother, Aaron... Four-year member of the honor roll... Top salutatorian in his class with an overall high school GPA of 3.9... Lists advancing to the CIF State Championships for three consecutive years as his proudest personal accomplishment... Names "Forrest Gump" as his favorite movie... If he could play any other sport at UC Davis, it would be field hockey... His great, great, uncle is Porfirio Diaz, who served seven terms as the President of Mexico from 1876-1911...
