THE SHORT STORY: UC Davis closed the 2026 Big West Men's Golf Championship with a 6-over 294 in Tuesday's final round at La Quinta Country Club, finishing seventh of 10 teams at 11-over 875 for the 54-hole event. Zhenxian Zhang capped the championship at 3-under 213 to take ninth place on the individual leaderboard, joining Curtis Da Silva (215, -1) as the two Aggies to finish under par for the tournament. Long Beach State claimed the team title at a record-setting 48-under 816, more than doubling the previous Big West Championship mark and finishing 47 strokes ahead of runner-up Cal Poly.

FIRST TEE

• Zhang completed the championship at 3-under 213 to finish ninth on the individual leaderboard, posting rounds of 69-71-73 and securing a top-10 finish for the Aggies.
• Curtis Da Silva closed with the lowest Aggie round of the day, carding a 1-under 71 to finish at even-par 215 for the tournament — good for 14th overall — and joining Zhang as one of two Aggies under par for the championship.
• Lequan Wang turned in his second consecutive 1-over 73 in the final round, finishing at 5-over 221 (T26) for the championship.
• Shaun Nair posted a 5-over 77 in the third round, completing the championship at 10-over 226 (T34).
• Ryan Firpo returned for the final round and shot a 7-over 79, finishing the tournament at 158 across his two rounds of action.
