Da Silva Named Cobalt All-America Scholar; UC Davis Men's Golf Earns GCAA Team Academic Award

DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis men's golf program collected a pair of academic honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America this summer, earning the PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award while Curtis Da Silva was named a Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar, the association announced.

The Aggies were among a record 332 programs across six divisions to receive the team award, which recognizes squads that posted a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better during the 2025-26 academic year.

Da Silva, a political science major from Monterey, Calif., was one of 649 NCAA Division I student-athletes from 210 schools to earn All-America Scholar distinction. Selection criteria include a cumulative career GPA of 3.2 or above, sophomore standing or higher, participation in at least half of the team's competitive rounds and a stroke average under 76.0.

On the course, Da Silva paced the Aggies throughout the 2025-26 season with a 72.9 scoring average across 32 rounds in 11 events. He opened the year with his first career top-10, taking 10th at the Ram Masters Invitational at even-par 210 behind a 4-under 66 in the second round. At the Amer Ari Invitational, he was the only Aggie under par, firing three straight under-par rounds (70-68-69) to finish 9-under 207 in a 122-player field. He capped the season with a 14th-place finish at the Big West Championship, where his 1-under 215 made him one of just two Aggies under par at La Quinta Country Club, and earned All-Big West honorable mention.

The GCAA, founded in 1958, is the professional organization for men's collegiate golf coaches at all levels.
