THE SHORT STORY: UC Davis battled through tough conditions during Round 1 and used a strong Round 2 to surge up the leaderboard at the Ram Masters Invitational. After a 300 (+20) in Round 1, the Aggies answered with a 279 (-1) in the second round to climb into a tie for seventh. Junior Curtis Da Silva carded a team-low 66 (-4) in Round 2, while graduate Ivan Sablan, competing as an individual, delivered rounds of 70 and 71.

FIRST TEE

• Da Silva's second-round 66 (-4) tied him for 12th individually and marked UC Davis' best round of the tournament
• Sablan provided consistency, opening with an even-par 70 before adding a 71 (+1) to also finish T12
• Lequan Wang bounced back from a 75 (+5) with an even-par 70 to move into a tie for 28th
• Shaun Nair matched Wang with a second-round 71 (+1) after an opening 75, tying for 35th overall
• Ryan Firpo went 75-72 to close the day in a tie for 44th, while Louis Grizot contributed with a 77 in round one and a 74 in round two (T64)
