HONOLULU – UC Davis cross country finally gets back to work, this time with eyes on a Big West Championship when the Aggies head to the Queen Kapi'olani Regional Park in Honolulu, Hawai'i for a Fri., Oct. 31 race.

AHMED TAKES HOME BIG WEST HONORS: With a personal best time of 23:30.66
Muhammed Ahmed posted a top 10 finish at the highly competitive Bill Dellinger Invitational on Oct. 10. His eight-place finish earned him Big West Athlete of the Week honors, making it the first time the Aggies have had a pair of Big West Athlete of the Week honors in the same season since joining the conference.
AGGIES WIN UNDER THE LIGHTS: The Aggie men took first place at the Kim Duyst Twilight Invitational behind four top 10 finishers.
Donavan Cheruiyot (23:32.2),
Muhammed Ahmed (23:33.5),
Ethan Brooks (23:38.4) and
Chris Coles (23:47.3) all crossed the line inside the top 10 to power the Aggies to victory.
For the women,
Fiona McGrath (21:03.4) raced to a fourth-place finish and
Stormy Wallace (21:26.8) crossed in 12th for a pair of top 15 finishing Aggies under the lights.
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: After racing to a personal best time of 23:21.2 for a third-place finish at the Kim Duyst Twilight Invitational,
Donavan Cheruiyot was named the Big West Men's Athlete of the Week as part of the conference's weekly awards for cross country.
The UC Davis men's cross country junior paced the Aggie men in the 8K at the Kim Duyst, leading the Aggies to a first place finish overall. His finishing position of third made him one of four Aggies to cross the line inside the top 10 under the lights.
USF INVITE SUCCESS: UC Davis opened its season at the USF Invitational on Aug. 29 where the men finished second and the women came in fifth. The Aggie men used the final parts of its 8k to move up nine spots from 11th after the opening third of the race to their eventual fifth place finish. While
Fiona McGrath's 21:33.2 led the Aggie women putting McGrath 14th overall in the race and she was joined by
Peyton Adams (21st, 21:54.5) inside the top 25.
The Aggies are coming off a strong 2024 where the women finished second and the men finished third respectively at the 2024 Big West Championships. Returning leaders

Muhammed Ahmed and
Ethan Brooks look to set the pace for the Aggies all season long. While
