Muhammed Ahmed And Aggie Cross Country Women Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

DAVIS, Calif. – Big West Men's Cross Country individual champion Muhammed Ahmed's outstanding season has earned him the honor of being named a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association All-Academic athlete, joining the Aggie cross country women who were named an USTFCCCA All-Academic Team as announced by the USTFCCCA on Jan. 29.
 
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships. While for teams, in order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, squads must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
 
Ahmed's 25th-place finish at the NCAA West Regionals qualified him for the individual honor, while the women's team posted a team GPA of 3.37. For the women, it's the fifth-straight season they have been earned USTFCCCA All-Academic team honors.
