SACRAMENTO, Calif. – After a strong showing at the Big West Cross Country Championships, UC Davis cross country heads to the NCAA West Regionals for a shot at qualifying for the NCAA National Championships.

Teams can earn qualification for the NCAA National Championships, set to run on Saturday, Nov. 22 in Columbia, Mo., by finishing as one of the top two teams at their respective regional or entering as one of 14 teams selected via an at-large bid for a 32-team field.

Individuals can also go, with 38 individuals earning automatic qualification and at-large selections. If any Aggie is one of the first four regional finishers not from an team earning an automatic qualification, they will punch their ticket to nationals.
SPECTATOR PARKING
Parking Location: American River College Football Stadium – 4700 College Oak Drive, Sacramento, CA 95841;
Cost:Â $20 per vehicle (all riders will get a wristband that covers event admin & shuttle). Attendants will accept cash or PayPal. Do not use campus parking kiosks.

Shuttle Hours:Â 6:30am until 30 min following the conclusion of awards ceremony. Shuttle will operate on a continuous loop between parking and the venue, which is a 7-10 minute drive away.

Upon arriving at parking lot, please see the event parking lot stationed in the lot to receive your wristband and parking pass. Please display the parking pass on your dashboard. Failure to doing so may result in a campus citation.
There is NO parking available for spectators at the venue. Spectators will be turned around at the parking lot and directed to park at American River College. We encourage all spectators to take into account the time it will take to load and drive to the venue to ensure you arrive on time for the event.
CHAMPION AHMED: On Oct. 31,
Muhammed Ahmed took home the Big West Cross Country Championship under clear skies at Kapi'olani Regional Park, becoming the first individual Big West men's champion for UC Davis cross country since 2017. His performance helped the men finish second at the championship.

Ahmed sat tied for third with 2K left in the race, and it was there he hit his stride. Over the final stretch of the race Ahmed pulsed away from the eventual top finishers, crossing the line with a championship time of 24:12.2 to bring home the first Big West crown for the men since 2017.

AHMED TAKES HOME BIG WEST HONORS: With a personal best time of 23:30.66
Muhammed Ahmed posted a top 10 finish at the highly competitive Bill Dellinger Invitational on Oct. 10. His eight-place finish earned him Big West Athlete of the Week honors, making it the first time the Aggies have had a pair of Big West Athlete of the Week honors in the same season since joining the conference.

AGGIES WIN UNDER THE LIGHTS: The Aggie men took first place at the Kim Duyst Twilight Invitational behind four top 10 finishers.
Donavan Cheruiyot (23:32.2),
Muhammed Ahmed (23:33.5),
Ethan Brooks (23:38.4) and
Chris Coles (23:47.3) all crossed the line inside the top 10 to power the Aggies to victory.

Fiona McGrath (21:03.4) raced to a fourth-place finish and
Stormy Wallace (21:26.8) crossed in 12th for a pair of top 15 finishing Aggies under the lights.

Donavan Cheruiyot was named the Big West Men's Athlete of the Week as part of the conference's weekly awards for cross country.

The UC Davis men's cross country junior paced the Aggie men in the 8K at the Kim Duyst, leading the Aggies to a first place finish overall. His finishing position of third made him one of four Aggies to cross the line inside the top 10 under the lights.

USF INVITE SUCCESS: UC Davis opened its season at the USF Invitational on Aug. 29 where the men finished second and the women came in fifth. The Aggie men used the final parts of its 8k to move up nine spots from 11th after the opening third of the race to their eventual fifth place finish. WhileÂ
Fiona McGrath's 21:33.2 led the Aggie women putting McGrath 14th overall in the race and she was joined byÂ
Peyton Adams (21st, 21:54.5) inside the top 25.
