HONOLULU – Muhammed Ahmed took home the Big West Cross Country Championship under clear skies at Kapi'olani Regional Park, becoming the first individual Big West men's champion for UC Davis cross country since 2017 helping the men finish second while the Aggie women finished fourth in the championships.
 
ON THE COURSE (MEN'S 8K)

• Ahmed sat tied for third with 2K left in the race, and it was there he hit his stride
• Over the final stretch of the race Ahmed pulsed away from the eventual top finishers, crossing the line with a championship time of 24:12.2 to bring home the first Big West crown for the men since 2017
• Chris Coles joined Ahmed inside the top five, running a 24:33.3 to finish fifth and Donovan Cheruiyot crossed in 10th with a time of 24:40.2 to each earn All-Big West honors

ON THE COURSE (WOMEN'S 6K)

• Fiona McGrath earned All-Big West honors with a ninth-place finish, running her 6K in 21:37.8 to give the Aggies a runner inside the top 10
