SACRAMENTO, Calif. – UC Davis men's cross country posted a 10th-place finish, its best finish at the NCAA West Regionals since 2010, while Muhammed Ahmed finished 25th overall to earn All-West Region honors and with the women finishing 19th the Aggies wrapped up 2025 on a strong note.
 
Fiona McGrath led the Aggie women with an 80th-place finish, while Donavan Cheruiyot (31st) and Ethan Brooks (35th) helped power the Aggie men to the top 10 finish among some of the best competition in the nation.
 
ON THE COURSE (MEN'S 10K)

• Ahmed used a late kick to move into the top 25 an earn the All-Region honors, and his personal best time of 30:00.3 is the best time an Aggie has set in a 10K at the NCAA Regionals since 2007
• Cheruiyot clocked a personal best 30:07.9 to finish 31st and Brooks crossed the line with a PR of his own at 30:12.2 to end the day in 35th to give UC Davis three top 35 finishers
• Ahmed becomes the first All-Region Aggie since Thomas Madden finished 16th at the 2017 NCAA West Regionals and he becomes just the fifth Aggie to ever earn the honor

ON THE COURSE (WOMEN'S 6K)

• McGrath crossed the line with a time of 21:17.6 to lead the Aggies
• Stormy Wallace posted an 88th-place finish of 21:34.0 and behind her Peyton Adams clocked a time of 21:42.0 for a 95th-place finish for the top three Aggie finishers
