Thomas Hutchison fired a final round 67 to finish at 11-under for the tournament, while sophomore
Lucas Carper finished with a 3-under 69 on the event's final day, helping UC Davis finish in a tie for 12th to wrap up the Amer Ari Invitational on Saturday at the Hapuna Golf Course in Waimea, Hawai'i.
The Aggies saved their best team round for last, combining on a 282 final round to finish at 14-under for the three-day event and end the week in a tie for 12th alongside San Jose State. Oklahoma State stormed up the leaderboard to win the event, moving up from fifth place entering the day by firing a final round 264 to edge Texas Tech by a single stroke. The Cowboys also had the individual champion in Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra, who finished with a 19-under 197 to win by two.
Hutchison posted his fourth top-10 finish in five events thus far this season, carding five birdies during a bogeyless final round en route to his seventh round in the 60s on the year. Starting on the 10th hole, the San Jose, Calif., native finished 2-under on the back before posting birdies on three of the first five holes on the front nine to finish eight shots off the lead.
Carper also finished without a bogey on Saturday, playing the back nine at even-par after starting on the par-five 11th hole, carding birdies on the fifth, seventh, and eighth holes, en route to his best round of the weeked following back-to-back 70s. Carper finished at 7-under for the three-day event with a season-best 209 and finished in a tie for 23rd -- trailing only his tie for 18th at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational for his best finish of the year.
After finishing 6-over through the first two rounds, sophomore
Alejandro Nava wrapped up his tournament with an even-par 72 on Saturday, but finished in a tie for 87th. Sophomore
Jacob Westberg finished in a tie for 65th after posting a final round 74, carding three birdies and an eagle on the par-five eighth hole, while sophomore
Mark Stephens finished in a tie for 98th following his final round 78.
