2023-24: Stalwart in the Aggie lineup all-season, as he posted two top-10 finishes, with a total of four top-25 finishes… Stephens also posted an average score of 72.5 with his best performance coming at the Marquette Intercollegiate where he placed 8th out of 78 in an ultra-competitive field… Second straight honorable mention after being recognized in 2023… Three different tournaments with under-par scores… 2024 Big West Men’s Golf Championship: Finished 31st out of 54, with a score of +9… El Macero Classic: Placed 55th out of 104, scoring +14… Cowboy Classic: Secured 19th place out of 120, with a score of -5… The Goodwin: Took 111th place out of 168, ending with a score of +11… The Prestige: Finished 45th out of 120, with a score of +1… Amer Ari Intercollegiate: Ended up 103rd out of 124, scoring +2… Windon Memorial Classic: Placed 34th out of 84, with a score of -2… USF Howard Intercollegiate: Took 10th place out of 80, finishing with a score of -6… Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational: Finished 24th out of 120, with a score of +1.
2022-2023: Started in all nine tournaments for the Aggies… Named All-Big West Conference Honorable Mention… Stephens finished in the top-25 in four events on the season, including a top-20 and top-10 finish… His best placement came at the Big West Championship, where he tied for eighth and fired for his best round of the season at 8-under 64 in the second round, en route to a 1-under 215 finish… He tied for 17th at the El Macero Classic, after carding a three round score of 1-under 215… At the Wyoming Cowboy Classic he tied for 21st with a three round score of 1-over 217… He tied for 23rd at the Prestige, with a three round score 5-over 218… Out of 27 rounds of play nine were on par or under and two rounds in the 60’s… He ended the season in second place on the Aggies team, with an average score of 73.37.
2021-2022: Started in all 10 regular season and two postseason tournaments for the Aggies… Out of the 36 rounds of play 11 were under par and five were in the 60’s… Fired his best 54 hole score with 8-under 208 at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational–where he tied for fifth place and placed second for the Aggies… Finished in the top-50 in six of the 12 events… Tied fourth in the Big West Men’s Championship shooting a 1-under 215… Qualified for the 122nd US Amateur and finished with an 11-over… Participated in the final 2022 US Open qualifying round at Ridge Golf Club… Honorable mention for All-Big West Conference accolades… Finished the season with a 73.22 scoring average to put him in fourth place for the Aggies.
2020-21: Appeared in five of UC Davis’ six regular season tournaments… Closed out the year with his best finish of the season, tying for 16th at the Big West Conference Championships with a 4-over 220 thanks to back-to-back rounds of 71 in the second and third rounds, helping the Aggies to a runner-up team finish… Shot a season-low 70 in the final round of The Prestige to open the year and matched that mark in the final round of the Sacramento State Invitational as an individual… Opened the El Macero Classic with an even par 72 en route to a 3-over 219 and a tie for 32nd.
2019-20: Appeared in four of the team’s eight tournaments during the regular season for the Aggies, posting a pair of top-25 finishes… Ended the season with a 75.67 stroke average over 12 rounds, posting four rounds at par or better… Posted a season-best finish at the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills, finishing in a tie for 17th — and second among Aggies — with a 1-over 217, including a low round of 70 in the final round… Matched his season-low round with a second-round 70 at The Prestige Individual Tournament en route to a tie for 20th with a 4-over 220.
SUMMER 2019: Competed at the 119th U.S. Amateur at the Pinehurst Resort & Country Club, finishing with rounds of 79 and 81 during stroke play.
UNIVERSITY PREP ’19
Four-year letter winner… All-North Athletic League selection as a freshman and a three-time league MVP his sophomore-senior seasons… Helped the Panthers to a quartet of NAL titles, and a CIF Northern Section crown as a senior… Won a pair of individual NAL titles as a junior and senior, averaging a prep-best 68 in his final year… Also won a pair of individual section titles in his final two seasons… Also played four years of basketball for the Panthers, earning a pair of all-league selections as a junior and senior and helping his team to a pair of league championships.
PERSONAL
Parents are Mark and Anita… Has a brother, Tanner, and a sister, Madison… His father played basketball at Menlo College, while his sister played golf at Chico State… Lists qualifying for the 2019 U.S. Amateur as his proudest personal accomplishment… Lists Pinehurst Resort & Country Club as his favorite facility.
