DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis women's golf team heads to Southern California this week in search of its seventh conference crown, joining the league's eight other members for the 2021 Big West Conference Championships at the Yorba Linda Country Club in Yorba Linda, Calif. Play begins at 7:30 a.m. on each day of the three-day event, beginning Monday (April 19) and running through Wednesday (April 21).

AGGIES AT THE BIG WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS…
UC Davis has won the Big West title six times since joining the league, all coming from 2010-2015… The six conference titles rank second all time among league members, trailing only the 10 won by former member San Jose State from 1987-96… Six Aggie individuals have also taken home medalist honors: Chelsea Stelzmiller (2010 - won in a playoff), Alice Kim (2011), Bev Vatananugulkit (2012), Demi Runas (2013), Andrea Wong (2015), and Paige Lee (2016)… Stelzmiller also tied for first in 2008, but lost in a playoff to UC Irvine's Kim Lorenzana… UC Davis finished third in its last appearance in the Big West Championships in 2019, finishing 15 shots back of reigning champion Long Beach State, which has won back-to-back titles… The Aggies also have runner-up team finishes in 2008, 2009, and 2018… Only

• UC Davis enters the Big West Championships after finishing sixth at the Fresno State Classic on April 12-13.

Jackie Lucena led all Aggie individuals, finishing in a tie for 12th with a 2-over 218, while senior
Madison Wood was also in the top 25, finishing in a tie for 23rd with a 6-over 222.
• Four of Lucena's last six rounds have been played at par-or-better, including a second-round 69 during that stretch en route to a second-place finish at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic.
• Lucena has finished in the top 15 in three of the team's four events this season, narrowly missing a top-25 finish in the fourth at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational.

• Lucena's 72.58 scoring average and cumulative 7-over-par leads the team at the end of the regular season, posting the only three rounds in the 60s by an Aggie this year.
