KA'ANAPALI, Maui — Sophomore
Jackie Lucena carded a team-low 69 to finish at 3-under for the day, moving her into a tie for first with teammate
Madison Wood and helping the UC Davis women's golf team extend its lead at the ninth annual Anuenue Spring Break Classic at the Ka'anapali Golf Course in Maui on Tuesday.
Entering the day with an 11-shot lead, the Aggies shot a tournament-best 286 in Tuesday's second round, placing them at 4-over for the tournament with a 16-shot advantage over second-place and host Hawai'i heading into Wednesday's final round.
For the second consecutive round, Lucena eagled the par-5 sixth hole, finishing 4-under on the front nine and ending the day with three total birdies en route to her third round in the 60s this season. Her score was one of only three total rounds in the 60s on Tuesday, trailing only the 68 shot by Portland State's Franca Polla.
Madison Wood, meanwhile, also had a stellar front nine, finishing at 3-under at the turn, and adding another birdie on the par-3 15th to finish her day at 2-under and a share of the lead. Tuesday's 70 is tied for her season low, last accomplished in the opening round of the Gunrock Invitational back on March 1.
