RENO, Nev. — Sophomore
Lucas Carper shot an opening round 72 to lead the UC Davis men's golf team after 18 holes, but no one could beat the sun in the second round as day one of the Wolf Pack Classic was suspended due to darkness on Monday at Hidden Valley Country Club in Reno, Nev.
As a team, the Aggies currently sit in 13th place with anywhere from three to four holes remaining in their second rounds. Play is scheduled to resume at 9:30 a.m. PT on Tuesday morning with the conclusion of round two with continuous play into round three.
Carper rebounded from a 1-over 37 on the back nine and birdied the second and eighth holes en route to his 72. He currently stands at 3-over with three holes to play in round two, but sits in a tie for 17th after reaching as high as ninth.
After finishing at 3-over in the first round, senior
Thomas Hutchison has bounced back in a big way in the second round, carding birdies on the first and fourth holes to stand at even par with four holes to play. Overall, he joins Carper in the tie for 17th at 3-over for the event.
Sophomore
Jacob Westberg opened with a 5-over 77 and currently sits at 3-over in the second round with three to play, ranking tied for 43rd. He is followed by sophomore
Alejandro Nava in a tie for 73rd, and sophomore
Mark Stephens in a tie for 76th.
