STANFORD, Calif. — Aggie tennis finished a perfect three-for-three in doubles on day two of the ITA Northwest Regional, with Lauren Ko and Sara Tsukamoto continuing to roll through the main draw. Senior Kristina Breisacher finished the day with wins in singles and doubles to highlight consolation play.
Ko and Tsukamoto, now 5-2 together this season, are the first Aggies since 2015 to advance to the round of 16 in main draw doubles, and will take on fourth-seeded Anna Bright and Haley Giavara (Cal) Sunday morning at 10 AM. The winner will play the quarterfinal match at 2 PM.
The senior duo of Breisacher and Nikita Pradeep were victorious in consolation doubles, defeating Jamie Schroer and Katya Tabachnik of Santa Clara, 8-6. Jessica Walker partnered with Yana Gurevich to dispatch Portland's Angela Schuster and Mariia Elenova, 8-5.
In singles play, Tsukamoto put up a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win over Schroer (SCU), with Breisacher joining with a straight set win of her own to be the only two Aggies to finish the day undefeated.
Action continues on Sunday with main draw doubles at the Taube Family Tennis Center.
