2019-20: Competed in only the fall portion of the year… Went 0-4 in singles, and 0-1 against nationally ranked players… Fell to Stanford’s Michaela Gordon, ranked No. 6 in the fall at the ITA Northwest Regional… Did not play singles at the SMC Fall Invitational… Partnered with Kristina Breisacher for a 5-3 overall doubles record… Reached the semifinals of the Gold Draw at the Cal Fall Invitational, and in the A Flight at the SMC Fall Invite… Remainder of the spring dual season was canceled on Mar. 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
2018-19: BIG WEST FIRST TEAM SINGLES… BIG WEST HONORABLE MENTION DOUBLES… BIG WEST ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (2/20)… Compiled a 12-10 overall, 11-7 dual record in first year at the top of the singles lineup… Won six consecutive matches between Jan. 26 and Feb. 23... Continuing from the 2018 season, won 12 consecutive matches when competing at the Marya Welch Tennis Center… Finished the year with a 6-1 Big West record to earn First Team distinction, winning the first six matches… Posted two straight set wins over UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton to win eight straight regular season Big West matches to earn second career Big West Athlete of the Week honors… Earned sixth career 6-0, 6-0 win, defeating CSUN’s Monika Van de Vondel to lead to the Aggies’ first road win over the Matadors since the 2011 season… Made an appearance in the fall at all three tournaments… In doubles, finished the season with a 14-12 overall record, and led the team in dual wins alongside partner Shirley Hall, going 10-9 at the No. 2 position to earn honorable mention honors… Clinched the doubles point for the Aggies on six occasions… Was the only pair to win a doubles match against Hawai’i in the regular season, defeating Michelle Pits and Roxanne Resma, 6-3… Also partnered with Hall in the fall tournaments in all but one match, advancing to the final of the St. Mary’s Fall Invitational B Draw.
2017-2018: BIG WEST HONORABLE MENTION SINGLES… BIG WEST ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (Feb. 21)… Concluded the season with a 17-6 overall, 15-1 dual, and 6-0 conference singles record… Tied with teammate Lani-Rae Green in most overall singles wins… Remained undefeated at No. 3 singles with a 5-0 record, and went nearly undefeated at No. 4 singles with a 10-1 record... Posted 11 straight-set victories throughout the season… Went 17-8 overall, 9-4 in dual, and 3-1 in conference in doubles play… Posted a perfect No. 3 doubles record with partner Sara Tsukamoto at 4-0… Won the last five doubles matches of the dual season, including a win at the Big West Conference Tournament… In the fall tournament season, took home the Flight “B” doubles crown with partner Kristina Breisacher at the Saint Mary’s Fall Invitational…. At the Cal Nike Fall Invitational, advanced to the doubles quarterfinal with teammate Isabella von Ebbe.
2016-17: Finished her freshman season with a 17-8 overall, 16-5 dual, 1-3 tournament and 3-3 conference singles record... Tied for second amongst the team in singles wins... Led the team in win percentage in singles play at .680... Went on a 12 match win streak between January 28 and March 10... Won five of those twelve matches without allowing a single point to her opponent... Was undefeated at both the No. 2 position (2-0) and the No. 5 position (9-0)... also went 3-4 at No. 3 and 2-1 at No. 6... Finished with a 12-13 overall, 11-9 dual, 1-4 tournament and 2-4 conference record in doubles... Began the year with Lani-Rae Green in tournament play before partnering with Samantha Martino for the majority of 2017... Pradeep and Martino finished 9-8 together including shutout victories over Sonoma State (2/05) and Chaminade (2/10)... closed out the final four matches of doubles play with Kristy Jorgensen at the No. 1 position for 2-1 overall record and two Big West wins over Long Beach State (4/07) and UC Riverside (4/22).
CLEMENTS HS '16: Led Clements High School to three consecutive league titles... Team finished 15th, 11th and eighth within its section during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons... Competed at the No. 1 position all three years... Pradeep captured third place individual finishes at the 2014 and 2016 state playoffs... Won an individual state championship in 2015... Earned Academic Excellence from 2014-16 for maintaining a 3.0 GPA or above.
PERSONAL: Soja and Pradeep Nair are her mother and father... Recorded a No. 5 state and No. 45 national ranking during her high school career... Won several USTA Texas Super Championship Tournaments... Not many people know that she is a self-proclaimed "very dorky nerd" when it comes to video games... Would choose volleyball if she could play another sport at UC Davis... Roger Federer is her sports hero... Plans to develop video games while working at Nintendo or Sony after graduation... Favorite hobby, other than tennis, is eating... Top three things on her bucket list include visiting Tokyo, cliff diving and working at her dream job... Chose UC Davis because the team was very friendly and welcoming; also felt that the school was a perfect fit for her.
