2020: Team opted out of competition for the 2020-21 school year due to COVID-19, student-athletes will not lose a year of eligibility and maintain their athletic standing for the 2021-22 academic year.
2019: Appeared in nine matches… Finished with three goals on six shots, as well as three steals, on the year… Finished with a season-high two goals in a win over Ottawa University (9/22) and scored again against Fresno Pacific (10/18)… Added two shots against the Spirit, matching that total against the Sunbirds and posting single attempts against both Concordia (10/20) and Fresno Pacific once again (11/22)… Finished with two of his three steals on the year against Ottawa.
2018: Appeared in 19 of the team’s 26 matches in his debut season… Finished with four goals and an assist for five points, taking eight shots… Also added four steals and drew 18 exclusions on the season… Scored single goals against Brown (Sept. 2), San Jose State (Sept. 8), Chapman (Sept. 15), and Concordia (Nov. 16)… Also added an assist against Loyola Marymount on Nov. 17.
2017: Redshirted.
GARCES MEMORIAL HS ’17: Broke century mark in scoring in each of final three seasons (stats are not available from his freshman year)... Netted goals totals of 103, 118 and 106 from sophomore through senior year, respectively... Captured third consecutive first-team All-East Yosemite League nod in 2016, adding All-Central Section first-team distinction... Three-year team captain... Helped team to 25-3 record, perfect EYL slate and CIF-CS championship as a junior... Selected as team’s Offensive Player of the Year that season... Eight-year Junior Olympics competitor for Bakersfield WPC, including three at U18 division... Three-time ODP participant: two with Central California Zone Cadet, one with Youth... Helped Central squads to third- and fourth-place showing at nationals in 2015 and 2016... Voted ASB President as a senior, class president as a junior... Member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Young Republican Club... Compiled GPAs of 4.14, 4.21, 4.27 and 4.40 throughout academic career, earning USAWP All-Academic accolades.
PERSONAL: Born in Bakersfield, Calif.... Majoring in economics... Parents are Tom & Tina Burke... Youngest of three siblings, along with John-Michael (27) and Kerry (24)... Hobbies include deep sea fishing and collecting recorders.
