Biography

2010: Placed 7th in shot (12.70m, 41-8), 9th in hammer (47.30m, 155-2) at Big West Conference Championships... Both marks checked in at No. 10 on UC Davis[apos] outdoor lists... Made just one appearance in discus but popped 45.94m (150-9) at Cal-Nevada State Championships in that solo effort, good for 5th in school history.

BUTTE COLLEGE: Qualified for COA state championships as a sophomore in 2009, placing 4th in hammer (46.24m, 151-8), 9th in shot (11.62m, 38-1.5)... Hammer throw mark set school record, while discus throw ranks 6th in Roadrunner history... Finished 4th and 6th in hammer and shot, respectively, at 2009 NorCal meet... Improved from 11th and 8th in those events as a freshman.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Hood River (Ore.) HS for two years before moving to Chico... Graduated from Pleasant Valley HS in 2007... Placed 2nd in shot (33-10.5) at Northern Section meet as a senior.

PERSONAL: Born in St. Helena, Calif.... Majoring in linguistics... Parents are Steve & Stacey Royall.
