2011: Finished 2nd behind teammate Ray Green in long jump at Big West Conference with leap of 7.21m (23-8)... Qualified for NCAA West Prelim, finishing 28th (7.17m, 23-6.25)... Led Aggies in 110 hurdles, hitting wind-aided 15.06 in prelim then wind-legal 15.12 in final at Big West meet... Led off 8th-place 4x100 relay (41.88) at conference... Part of 41.78 relay at Cal Opener.
2010: Scored PR of 6,053 at UC Multi in his lone complete decathlon... Appeared in seven events at Chico Multi... Placed 18th in 100 at Big West Conference Championships with season-best 11.17... Improved on his 2009 bests in long jump (6.88m, 22-7), shot (10.79m, 35-5), high jump (1.76m, 5-9.25) and discus (31.91m, 104-8).
2009: Competed in decathlon twice, scoring 5,824 at UC Multi then placing 8th at Big West meet with 6,020 total... Event-by-event bests are: 100 - 11.11, LJ - 6.55m (21-6) (wind-legal), SP - 9.46m (31-0.5), HJ - 1.75m (5-8.75), 400 - 51.28, 110H - 15.51, DT - 29.40m (96-5), PV - 3.70m (12-1.5), JT - 44.22m (145-1), 1,500 - 5:05.87... Also had wind-aided long jump of 6.81m (22-4.25) at Brutus Hamilton Invite... Competed in open long jump at Big West meet, placing 17th.
ATASCADERO HS [apos]08: All-Pac 7 Conference honoree in both football and track... Prep PRs were 14.97 in 110 hurdles, 12-6 in pole vault, school-record 22-6 in long jump, 40.71 in 300 IM... Compiled eight all-league finishes in three track seasons... Won Rep. Kevin McCarthy[apos]s Medal of Merit as school[apos]s outstanding senior.
PERSONAL: Born in Templeton, Calif.... Majoring in exercise biology... Parents are William & Jeanne Neely... Career highlight was setting AHS long jump record... Chose UC Davis because of the reputation of its coaching staff.
