2022: Participated in two meets…Set team and personal bests in the 2,000 meter steeplechase (6:19.59 – Aggie Open) and the 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:37.01 – Hornet Invitational)

2021 XC: BIG WEST CONFERENCE ALL-ACADEMIC… Competed in four meets… Placed 61^st at the Big West Conference Championship with a time of 26:31.1… Best finish of the season came at the Stump Invitational where he placed 28^th with a time of 24:26.4… Crossed the line in 26:04 to place 101^st at the FSU Invite/Pre-Nationals… Ran a 25:39.4 to finish 127^th at the Dellinger Invitational.

2020 T&F: Finished 12th at the Cal Invite (3/7) in the 3000m with a time of 8:53.29... That was the only meet the Aggies competed in since COVID-19 forced a premature end to the season.

2019 XC: Recorded a personal best time of 26:00.1 at the Bronco Invitational (10/19)... Clocked a 26:00.1 at the Bronco Invite (10/19), his fastest time of the year... Finished the Big West Championship (11/2) with a time of 27:26.2. 

HERITAGE HS ’19: Ran track and cross country all four years for the Patriots… Four-time First Team All-Bay Valley Athletic League honoree in cross… Earned Team MVP senior year after winning the BVAL Championships, Pacific Tiger Invite, Castro Valley Invite, and the Division 1 race at the Apache Invite… In track, is a three-time BVAL champion, winning two 3200m titles, and a 1600m title… Three-time First Team All-League in the 3200m… Two-time First Team All-League in 1600m, before earning First Team honors in the 800m senior year… Awarded Team MVP in track senior year… Competed six years for the Delta Limitless running club, and was a four-time Winter State Qualifier… Academically, was on Heritage’s Honor Roll.

PERSONAL: From Brentwood, Calif… Parents are Michael and Korey Waechter… Father Michael played volleyball at Pacific… Has a younger sister, Ainsley… Grandfather David Maxwell graduated from UC Davis in 1919… Most people don’t know that he is very outgoing to people he’s close to… Career sports highlight is winning his first invitational at the Pacific Tiger Invite… Favorite movie is Avengers: Endgame… Sports hero is Louis Zamperini… Plans to be a mechanical engineer after UC Davis… Hobbies outside of running include spike ball and hiking… Related to Edmund Payne Halley, who discovered Halley’s Comet… Chose UC Davis Athletics because he enjoyed hanging out with the guys on the team, and it felt like a place where he would be able to get better as a runner and person.
