Calderon Sits Third At Juli Inkster Invitational; Aggies Enter Clubhouse Sixth Overall

UC Davis women's golf senior Lauren Calderon had a strong opening 36 holes, shooting 143 (-1) over the opening rounds at the Juli Inskter Invitational helping the Aggies to a sixth-place spot entering the final round at TPC Harding Park.
 
IN THE CLUBHOUSE:
  • A strong second round of +6 moved the Aggies up the leaderboard and it puts them ahead of the Atlantic Coastal Conference's Boston College, along with the Mountain West's Boise State, UNLV, Nevada and Fresno State
  • Calderon shot a solid 71 (-1) in the opening round, snagging three birdies along the way including an opening birdie on 16. She then returned in the second round to shoot an even par 72 to maintain her -1 overall for the tournament and a spot near the top of the leaderboard
  • Yu "Yoyo" Bai used a 72 (E) second round to hold a +4 for the tournament, placing her 23rd overall and it gives the Aggies a pair inside the top 25
  • Gabriella Ilardi provided some excitement for the Aggies in the first round, shooting an eagle on the par five 12 for one of the best holes of the day for an Aggie
