MAUI, Hawai'I – UC Davis women's golf battled through its second round at the Big West Championships, and thanks to
Elina Kuang setting the pace with a 71 (-1) the Aggies remain within shouting distance of the title sitting in second place heading into Tuesday's final round.
IN THE CLUBHOUSE:
- The Aggies are still shooting the best amongst the field on par fives, sitting -6 across the two rounds and their 25 birdies ties them for second with 18 holes to play
- Kuang climbed the leaderboard eight spots to fourth (E) with her stellar day on the course, nailing three birdies at holes six, seven and 12 to lead the Aggies with the squad's best round
- Vani Karimanal remains inside the top five sitting even for the tournament after shooting a 75 (+3) on the day
- Lauren Calderon rounds out the Aggies inside the top 10, sitting at +2 for the tournament after shooting 75 (+3) in the second round to place her tied for ninth
- Yu "Yoyo" Bai gives the Aggie four inside the top 20, with her +5 for the tournament tying her for 18th overall
- Calderon sits tied for third shooting E on par fours and her 26 pars ties her for third in the field along with Kuang
- Karimanal's eight birdies ties her for second-most among the competition and her -3 on par fives sits tied for third-best in the field
