UC Davis Set To Compete In 2026 Women’s National Invitation Tournament

FORT COLLINS, Colo.  — UC Davis women's basketball will play in the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) for the sixth time in program history after earning an at-large bid on Sunday, Mar. 15.

The 48-team field was announced Sunday night following the announcement of the NCAA Tournament and Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) fields. The Aggies are the lone Big West school to make this year's tournament. Other notable competitors in this year's tournament include 2025-26 opponent Northern Colorado along with future Mountain West contemporary Air Force.

UC Davis is 5-5 all-time in the WNIT, last appearing in the tournament in 2018 when they made it all the way to the Elite Eight.

Details including the bracket, host schools, dates, and times will be announced Monday. The first round of the 2026 WNIT is set to go from Mar. 19-21.
