Avery Sussex makes it 50 total points in the Big West Championships with a career-high 27 points for UC Davis women's basketball in a 79-84 loss to UC San Diego in the Big West Semifinals on Friday, Mar. 13.

OPENING TIP
- In addition to being a career-high, Sussex's 27 points marks the eighth time she's gone for 20+ in a game this season, the seventh time against a conference opponent.
- Her 11 made field goals are also a career-best for the sophomore.
- Nya Epps also scored 20 in today's game, the seventh such instance this year.
- With 10 rebounds on the afternoon, she secures her first career double-double to go along with a new career-high.
- Megan Norris finished the day with 13 points and 13 rebounds, her 20th double-double of the season.

"The one word that comes to mind right now is pride. I'm extremely proud of our group and they were so deserving of this championship because of how much they poured into the program. I'm really proud of everything we've accomplished this year. We've faced adversity along the way and stayed together through it. As a coach, that's all you can really ask for."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Aggies started the game hot, opening on an 11-2 run punctuated by a three from Epps that forced the Tritons into a timeout.
- Out of the TO, UCSD crawled their way back into it on a 12-2 run that put them ahead by one with three minutes to go in the first.
- Points from Bennett broke the scoring streak, but the Tritons finished the first quarter up 22-17.
- In the second, Sussex got things going with her first made three, setting up Tegan Young for the game tying score at 24 apiece.
- Three consecutive treys from the Tritons help put them up by as much as 12. Points from Sussex and Young cut the deficit back to single digits as the Ags' entered halftime down 35-42.
- The threes continued to fall for UC Davis in the third, with two more from Sussex and one from Norris encapsulating a 9-2 lead that put them back within four, 50-54.
- A late three from UC San Diego pushed them up to a six point lead as the Aggies entered the fourth within two possessions, 53-59.
- Sussex and Young continued to lead their team in quarter number four, combining for the first seven points to put their team within one possession.
- Three minutes later, Sussex's fifth made three set a new career-high to break another scoring run for the Tritons.
- A three from Epps with 72 seconds remaining put UC Davis as close as five, but seven made free throws from their opponent in the final minute made the difference as UC Davis ended their tournament run with a 79-84 defeat.
