SAN DIEGO – Two solid rounds by senior
Lauren Calderon placed the senior tied for third overall after 36 holes, and along with junior
Vani Karimanal's eight-place performance UC Davis women's golf entered the clubhouse holding strong tied for fourth overall at the San Diego State Classic.
IN THE CLUBHOUSE:
- Calderon birdied holes 15, 16, two, four and six in her first round, and followed that up with birdies at holes 12, 15, two, four, seven and nine during her second round
- Both rounds saw Calderon shoot 71 (-1) for a total of -2 for the tournament, placing her tied for third, only three strokes behind second place
- In the first round, Karimanal shot 72, getting birdies at holes 10, nine and one. But in the second round, Karimanal turned it up, shooting 71 (-1) with birdies at holes 16, two and seven while only shooting one bogey during her round
