The UC Davis Aggies are one of 14 total teams competing for the MPSF title this season.

Looking to build on a historic legacy, the Aggies return to the championships after placing fifth overall last year, a performance highlighted by two first-place rankings and multiple top-five finishes across a multitude of events.

On Sunday, Mar. 1, the championship opens with a 10:30 a.m. pentathalon showing, where Emma San will compete in the 60m hurdles, kicking off a five-event slate that concludes with her final event at 3:15 p.m. Field events then begin at 2:30 p.m. with Atianna Marquez, Daisy Penney, and Shae Wright in the pole vault, while Hailey Hernandez and Ningning O'Brien contest the weight throw at 3:45 p.m. At 5:00 p.m., Kylee Davis leads the high jump and long jump alongside Lily Holman, Riley Lankford, and Kadidja Sangare. Track prelims feature Sangare in the 60m hurdles (3:00 p.m.) and Holman and Rujeko Munetsi in the 60m dash (3:30 p.m.). The 5,000m run with Brooke Butler, Fiona McGrath, and Stormy Wallace begins at 4:00 p.m., followed by Shinnick in the 200m (5:00 p.m.) and the Distance Medley Relay (5:50 p.m.).

On Monday, Mar. 2, the competition starts at 9:00 a.m. with the 60m hurdles and 60m dash finals. Chinyere Egbuziem and Maya Ifo-Desai take on the shot put at 9:30 a.m., followed by Riley Lankford in the triple jump at 10:00 a.m. On the track, Peyton Adams and Hannah Aguirre run the mile at 9:45 a.m., while Shinnick, Avah Reichow, and Katie Coppersmith contest the 400m at 10:20 a.m. Miriam Aguirre and Dominika Janik lead the 800m at 11:15 a.m., followed by a deep 3,000m lineup at 11:40 a.m. including Butler, Adams, McGrath, Gracie Trenam, and Wallace. The meet concludes with the 4x400m relay at 12:45 p.m. and the team awards ceremony will be held at the conclusion of the meet at 1:20 p.m.

SANGARE AND SHINNICK EARN MPSF ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS: The Aggies' indoor campaign was highlighted by a pair of MPSF Female Athlete of the Week honors. Kadidja Sangare earned the first weekly award of the season following a first-place finish at the Silver State Invite where she set a then-school record in the long jump (6.04m).

Maya Shinnick followed with honors after the Nevada Invite, where she secured two second-place finishes in both the 400m (54.35) and 200m (24.01). Shinnick's performance in that 200m dash set a new program record with a time of 24.01.

RECORD-BREAKING MARKS:
The UC Davis record books were constantly rewritten throughout the winter, beginning with a historic back-and-forth in the long jump. After Kadidja Sangare set the program record in the season opener, Kylee Davis surpassed that mark at the Nevada Invite, leaping 6.06m to take first place and claim the new school record.

Sangare added more history at the Battleborn Classic, clocking an 8.66 in the 60m hurdles to shatter a school record that had stood since 2010.

Maya Shinnick continued the momentum in the 400m dash, resetting her own school record with a time of 53.71 to take second place at the Battleborn Classic.

TOP FINISHES: Beyond the record-setting performances, the Aggies consistently found the podium across four regular-season meets. Kylee Davis secured second place in the long jump (5.86m) at the Silver State Invite and later took first in the high jump (1.69m) and third in the long jump (5.98m) at the Battleborn Classic. At the Nevada Invite, Peyton Adams raced to third in the mile (5:05.56), Dominika Janik took third in the 800m (2:16.29), and Sangare secured second in the long jump (5.96m). Additionally, Shae Wright earned a second-place finish in the pole vault (3.64m) at the Battleborn Classic to round out a successful preliminary slate.

RETURNING PLAYERS: UC Davis is headlined by returning MPSF conference first-place champion Kadidja Sangare (Long Jump); MPSF conference fifth and second-place finisher Maya Shinnick (200m and 400m dash); MPSF conference third and fourth-place finisher Madison Kackley (3,000m run and one mile run); MPSF conference ninth-place finisher Cierra Kinsey (400m dash); MPSF conference eight-place finisher Elizabeth Churchill (High Jump); MPSF conference tenth-place finisher Hailey Hernandez (Weight Throw); MPSF conference sixth-place finishing squad Grace Dunham, Dominika Janik, Kinsey, and Kackley (Distance Medley Relay); and MPSF conference sixth-place finishing squad Asleigh Christy, Janik, Kinsey, and Shinnick (4x400m relay).
