DAVIS, Calif. –
UC Davis women's golf held on to its second-place spot at the Causeway Invitational thanks to top 10 finishes by Vani Karimanal and Lauren Calderon helping the Aggies hold off a strong field over two days at the Del Paso Country Club.

IN THE CLUBHOUSE:
  • UC Davis finished just behind No. 47 Colorado who won the event by shooting even par over the 54 holes
  • The Aggies finished better than Sacramento State and fellow Big West counterparts Cal Poly and UC Riverside
  • Calderson saved her best round for last shooting -2 over the 18 holes getting birdies at holes two, 13 and 14, with her round moving the Aggie senior up six spots in the standings to finish tied for eighth
  • Karimanal entered the day tied for the top spot, but an early high score set her back, but with two birdies down the stretch the Aggie junior maintained an even par back nine to remain in the top eight, finishing tied for sixth overall
  • Elina Kuang also had a solid day, shooting one over par to move up four spots into the top 15, finishing tied for 13th to give the Aggies three finishers in the top 15
