Dominic McMahon, UC Davis cross country opened its 2026 campaign at the USF Invitational as the Aggie women secured a seventh-place finish and the men claimed eighth overall.
ON THE COURSE (MENS 8K)
- Freshman Dominic McMahon set the pace for the Aggie men throughout the 8k course in his collegiate debut, surging up 27 spots from 52nd to cross the finish line in 25th overall.
- Fellow freshman Chase Joanou provided steady scoring support in his debut as the second Aggie across the line, placing 40th overall.
- The combined efforts of the scoring group powered the UC Davis men to an eighth-place finish in a packed regional field to open the fall campaign.
ON THE COURSE (WOMEN 6K)
- Sophomore Peyton Adams set the tone for the Aggie women, making a steady move through the middle kilometers to cross the line in 20th place and secure the team's top individual result.
- Junior Kirra Fisk ran alongside Adams near the front of the pack, using a strong finish to claim 25th overall and give UC Davis a pair of top-25 finishers.
- The front-running tandem anchored the scoring effort for the Aggie women as they locked down a seventh-place team finish to open the fall slate.
