Megan Norris' 11th double-double of the season led the UC Davis women's basketball offense and defense in a 42-73 road loss to UC Irvine on Saturday, Jan. 17.

OPENING TIP
- Norris had a productive day with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Also blocking two shots and gathering two steals.
- She was also effective at the stripe, going 7-for-10 (70%) from the free-throw line.
- Avery Sussex dished out a team-high five assists.
- As a team, the Aggies were effective at getting to the free-throw line, shooting 25 foul shots compared to 22 from UC Irvine.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After seeing the Anteaters begin the day with a 10-0 run, Davis got on the board with a pair of free throws from Norris.
- Those shots sparked a 12-0 scoring run for the Aggies, with Norris and Sussex splitting the run with six points each to give their team a lead.
- But Irvine responded with 10 straight, leading 20-12 after the first period.
- Norris cut into the home team's lead with a layup to begin the second quarter.
- A 13-point quarter from the Ags featured buckets from Ryann Bennett, Tegan Young, and Carrington Davis, but the team would enter halftime down 25-38.
- Coming out of the locker room, Nya Epps got on the board with her first basket.
- But the Anteaters would knock down a pair of threes on their way to a 54-34 lead after three.
- Epps would lead off the scoring for her team with a jumper to open the fourth quarter.
- The Aggies would see free throws from Norris, Davis, and Theoni Tsami in the closing minutes of the contest, but their team would fall 42-73 on the road.
UP NEXT: UC Davis continues down I-5 next Thursday as they clash with UC San Diego down in La Jolla. Tipoff for next Thursday's contest will be at 6:00 p.m. PT and will be streamed on ESPN+ and KDVS 90.3.
