HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first five minutes were a back-and-forth affair as the road team found themselves down 6-10 after layups from Bennett, Norris, and Young.
- Norris' first of two threes put her team within one, but an 11-2 run from the Tritons in the final four minutes gave them a 21-11 lead after the first.
- Coming into the second quarter, the Ags began to cut into their opponents lead with a four point play from Avery Sussex and a jumper from Victoria Baker.
- A pair of threes kept UC San Diego ahead by double-digits late in the period. Coming off the bench, Emmy Ersdala hit a three to cut the deficit to eight before a personal 4-0 run from Sussex put her team within five, 33-38, as they hit the locker room.
- Coming out of the half, the offense came to life as a three from Young put her team within two and a layup from Norris tied things up at 40 apiece.
- But a defensive heavy quarter saw the teams combine for only 21 points, as a late Triton layup gave them a 48-44 lead heading to the final period of action.
- After seeing their opponent hit a three to open the fourth quarter, UC Davis began to produce, with threes from Bennett, Young, and Nya Epps powering an 11-0 run and another lead.
- A Triton three broke the scoring run, but the road team came to life again as an and one three point play from Baker gave her team a 60-54 lead with three minutes to go.
- From there, the Aggies held their lead with three trips to the free throw line in the final 30 seconds, knocking down four foul shots to secure a gusty 66-62 win.
