RENO, Nev. — Coming off its season opener at the Silver State Invitational, which featured several top performances including a record-breaking mark by
Kadidja Sangare, UC Davis women's indoor track and field returns to Reno this weekend to compete at the Nevada Invite on Friday, Jan. 16, and Saturday, Jan. 17.

On Friday, Jan. 16, the Aggies open competition with a strong presence in the field events. In the morning,
Hailey Hernandez and
Ningning O'Brien compete in the weight throw at 10 a.m., while
Hannah Crone,
Kylee Davis,
Kadidja Sangare and
Riley Lankford take on the long jump at 12 p.m. The pole vault will feature
Atianna Marquez and
Shae Wright, also starting at 12 p.m. and continuing throughout the day.
On the track Friday, Crone and Sangare are set to run the 60-meter hurdles starting at 1 p.m., while the 60-meter dash includes Davis, Lankford,
Rujeko Munetsi and
Tianna Ruskovich beginning at 2 p.m., with both events lasting throughout the day. UC Davis will also be represented in the mile by
Peyton Adams and
Gracie Trenam, set to begin at 3 p.m.
On Saturday, Jan. 17, field events begin at 10 a.m., with
Maya Ifo-Desai and
Chinyere Egbuziem in the shot put,
Elizabeth Churchill in the high jump, and
Chiara Fantin in the triple jump.
On the track, the 400-meter at 11 a.m. features
Ashleigh Christy,
Katie Coppersmith,
Elle Middleton,
Avah Reichow, and
Maya Shinnick, followed by the 800-meter at 12 p.m. with
Miriam Aguirre and
Dominika Janik. The 200-meter at 12:35 p.m. again features Christy, Coppersmith, Middleton, Reichow, and Shinnick. The 3000-meter at 2:30 p.m. includes
Hannah Aguirre,
Kiah Aitken,
Grace Dunham, and
Kayla Towne.
The meet concludes with the 4x400-meter relay, where the Aggies are expected to field a deep lineup including Christy, Coppersmith, Middleton, Janik, Reichow and Shinnick.
