Kadidja Sangare Named MPSF Female Athlete of the Week

DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis senior Kadidja Sangare has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Female Athlete of the Week, following a record-breaking, first-place long jump performance at the Silver State Invite in Reno, Nev.

Sangare secured first place in the indoor track & field long jump event with a mark of 6.04 meters on Friday, Dec. 5, while also surpassing her own previous UC Davis record of 5.97 meters.  Her winning leap also ranked 14th in the country for the opening week, helping her earn the first MPSF award of her career.

The performance continues a strong start to the indoor season for the senior, who stands among the top marks in the conference.

UP NEXT: After a month off from competition, the Aggies return to Reno at the Nevada Invite from Friday, Jan. 16 to Saturday, Jan. 17.
