DAVIS, Calif. — With the season opener just 24 days away, the UC Davis lacrosse midfielders are gearing up for an exciting 2026.
With a midfield room comprised of 10 players, four upperclassmen and six underclassmen, the Aggies bring in fresh new talent to bolster both the offensive and defensive ends of the field.
Rhea Cosand - Senior
The Aggies' senior leader for 2026, Cosand enters her fourth year looking to bounce back after missing all of last season.
In her sophomore season back in 2024, Cosand started in all 17 games, recording 26 goals on 48-of-63 shooting (.762), picking up 10 ground balls, and winning 14 draw controls.
Now fully healthy, her versatility looks to bring renewed energy to her team this season.
Gabby Torres - Junior
Entering her second season in the blue and gold after missing last year to injury, Torres looks to contribute on the attacking end of the field, bringing athleticism and IQ to the Aggie offense.
Catie McCauley - Junior
After missing her sophomore season, McCauley comes into the new year looking to build on a freshman campaign. She will add speed, IQ, and grit all over the field for the Aggies.
Ellie Raffo - Junior
Coming into her third collegiate season, the junior from Santa Cruz looks to elevate her game to a new level after a strong sophomore campaign.
In the Ags' regular season finale against San Diego State on April 26, Raffo scored her first goal of the season while also adding an assist to help her team clinch a spot in the inaugural Big 12 Tournament.
Audrey Carr - Sophomore
After a strong freshman season, Carr comes into year two poised to have a breakout season.
A fast, explosive, and dynamic midfielder who levels up both sides of the field, Carr will look to contribute heavily in all facets of the game in 2026.
Avery Williams - Sophomore
Joining the Aggies a year ago from Seattle, Williams is back for another go-around in 2026.
Appearing in six games as a freshman, the former Academic All-American has already proved herself to be a force on the defensive end, playing well against the 2025 Big 12 champion Florida.
Lola Chai - Sophomore
A Toronto native, Chai came to UC Davis last season after a successful career at The Hill Academy, a premier girls' lacrosse program in Canada.
Now in her second season as an Aggie, Chai is ready to bring her scrappy and aggressive style of play to the draw circle and all over the field.
Tory Agnew - Sophomore
A Davis native, Tory looks to switch things up in her sophomore year, going from jersey number 34 to six.
After ten games of action last season, she'll look to use her experience to take on an even bigger role, to become an impact player on both ends of the field.
Holly Smith - Freshman
Joining the Aggies all the way from Illinois, Smith brings three years of varsity experience with New Trier High School.
In her time with the Trevians, Smith played a solid all-around game with 41 goals, 49 ground balls, and 181 draw controls. As a senior, she led the team with 82 draws while also serving as a leader for her team on their way to the 2025 Illinois High School Girls Lacrosse State Championship.
Macey Torres - Freshman
The younger sister of
Gabby Torres, Macey turns the Aggies into a family affair after a decorated career at Stevenson High School in Monterey.
As captain of the Pirates in 2025, the three-sport athlete posted a 63-goal senior season to lead her team to a perfect 10-0 record in league play.
