RENO, Nev. —
Kadidja Sangare defeats her own indoor school record in the long jump, leading UC Davis to a dominant day two at the Silver State Invitational. Alongside Sangare's record-breaking leap, several Aggies set personal bests and secured top finishes, setting a strong tone as the meet heads into its final day tomorrow, Dec. 6, with competition starting at 10 a.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Kadidja Sangare broke her own indoor school record with a massive 6.04-meter leap to claim 1st place in the long jump. Kylee Davis added to the Aggies' dominance with a 2nd place finish at 5.86 meters.
- Riley Lankford then set an indoor PR in the long jump, finishing 12th with a 5.49-meter jump.
- Ningning O'Brien set a PR in the weight throw, placing 6th with a throw of 16.31 meters, closely followed by Hailey Hernandez in 7th place (16.29 meters).
- Elizabeth Churchill cleared 1.62 meters to place 9th in the high jump.
- Shae Wright tied for 9th place in the pole vault with a 3.50-meter clearance, while Keily Ramirez also cleared 3.50 meters to tie for 11th.
- On the track, Dominika Janik ran to a 5th place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:18.71.
- Maya Shinnick led the Aggies in the 200 meters with an 8th place finish at 24.47 seconds.
- Ashleigh Christy placed 15th in the 400 meters, crossing the line in 59.66 seconds.
