RENO, Nev. — UC Davis wrapped up day one of the Silver State Invitational in Nevada, with
Hannah Crone and Emma San leading the charge in the pentathlon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior Crone and freshman San both turned in strong performances at the season-opening pentathlon, highlighted by their top marks. Crone soared in the high jump, clearing 1.57 meters to tie for 12th overall, marking the team's top individual performance of the day.
- San turned in an impressive mark in her first collegiate pentathlon, notching 5.06 meters in the long jump to tie for 15th.
- The meet began with the 60-meter hurdles where Crone ran 9.47 seconds to place 15th, and San finished in 9.57 seconds for 19th, both showing solid speed to start the day.
- In the shot put, San recorded 8.74 meters for 20th place, and Crone threw 8.33 meters to finish 21st.
- In the high jump, Crone's 1.57-meter effort tied her for 12th, while San finished 18th at 1.48 meters.
- The long jump followed, with Crone reaching 5.10 meters for 14th place and San jumping 5.06 meters to tie for 15th.
- The pentathlon concluded with the 800-meter run. San finished in 2:51.81 for 17th place, while Crone was unable to complete her race.
- Both athletes showed determination and set a strong tone for the Aggies' indoor season opener, with San finishing in 16th place and Crone finishing in 21st place overall.
