DAVIS, Calif. — Fresh off clinching the program's first-ever Big West regular-season title on Saturday night, UC Davis volleyball grabbed two of the conference's weekly honors on Monday. Ximena Cordero Barr has been named Big West Defensive Player of the Week, while Mia Starr earns Setter of the Week recognition. Cordero Barr claims her third weekly award of the season, while Starr gets her fourth.

Cordero Barr delivered a standout weekend on the backline, totaling 48 digs across the final two matches of the regular season. She set a new career high with 36 digs in a five-set comeback win over CSUN, anchoring the Aggies' defense. She followed that performance with 12 digs in Saturday's sweep of CSU Bakersfield.

Starr powered the UC Davis offense with 84 assists over the two-match stretch, securing her fourth Setter of the Week honor. She posted 51 assists, her second 50-plus outing of the year, in Thursday's comeback against CSUN, adding nine digs to her stat line. On Saturday, she turned in another all-around effort with 43 assists and a team-high 15 digs, marking her eighth double-double of the season.

Together, their performances helped propel the Aggies to their first Big West regular-season crown and the No. 1 seed in next week's conference postseason tournament.

With the No. 1 seed secured in the Big West Tournament, the Aggies will have the next six days off from competition and take on the winner of the UC Santa Barbara and CSUN match on Wednesday afternoon.
