DAVIS, Calif. - With less than a month remaining until the first face-off against Cal, the UC Davis lacrosse team attackers are ready to make an impact for their club in 2025.
In an attacker's room filled with a mixture of faces both old and new, the Aggies are equipped for another productive season up front.
Fifth Year - Regan Arkless
After a senior season that was cut short due to injury, the fifth-year player from Houston, Texas, is back for another go-around with the Aggies. Throughout the three contests the Ags competed in to start 2024, Arkless was on a tear, scoring six goals on eight shots, including a four-goal performance against the Aztecs of San Diego State on February 16.
Now fully healthy, Arkless enters the season hungry to elevate the Aggies into the Big 12 era, looking to end her college career on a high note.
Senior - Lauren Picardi
Coming to Davis from Novato High School back in 2021, the senior enters her fourth year after a junior season in which she appeared in two games. Against Butler on March 9, she had her most productive game, firing two shots on goal in the Aggies' 11-8 win.
Graduate - Alex Agnew
After a year off from competition, the former All-MPSF performer enters 2025 looking to etch another chapter into her legacy as an Aggie.
As a junior in 2023, the Davis native had a historically great year. She led the Aggies in points with 32 goals and 32 assists for a total of 64 points. Her 93 career assists also rank second in all-time program history. She also led the team in hat tricks, notching seven into her stats, including two five-goal games against Robert Morris and Duquesne on March 26 and March 29, respectively.
Sophomore - Paige Davis
After redshirting her first season, the Moraga, California native enters year two for the Aggies looking to make an impact for her team.
The former captain of the varsity lacrosse team hailing from Campolindo High School, Davis put together a successful career. As a senior, she led her team to a 14-4 season, scoring an impressive 55 goals and 39 assists for 94 points.Â
Freshman - Sierra Schmidt
A four-year starter on the varsity team at Casa Grande High School, the freshman from Rohnert Park, California, comes to Davis looking to take her game to the next level.
During her career with the Gauchos, Schmidt compiled a team-high 169 goals across 44 contests, including 74 goals in 12 games during her junior year for an average of 6.2 goals per game. Her experience as an attacker will be a valuable asset for the Aggies as they look to their depth this season.
Sophomore - Cami Johnson
A 17-game starter a year ago, Johnson comes into her sophomore season looking to add to an impressive freshman campaign where she posted 21 goals and 11 assists for a total of 32 points.
In an early season outing against San Diego State, Johnson posted her best game of the year, putting up six points with three goals and three assists in an Aggies victory.
Freshman - Jane Fox
Hailing from Baltimore, Fox joins the Aggies after a successful high school career with Roland Park Country.
Senior - Grace Gebhardt
The Aggies leading goal scorer from last season returns for her senior year, looking to elevate her game to the next level.
Last season, Gebhardt put together one of the most prolific seasons in the program's history, scoring five goals in four separate contests to go along with nine hat tricks in 17 total games. Along with her team-leading 46 goals, she also led the team in total points with 61. At season's end, these numbers were good enough to earn Gebhardt Second-Team All-Pac 12 honors, ranking her among some of the best in the West.
Entering year four in a new conference, Gebhardt will look to repeat that same success.
Senior - Alannah Scott
After a 15-point junior year, the former superstar from San Ramon Valley enters year four for the Aggies.
Despite being limited to six games in 2024, Scott flashed signs of stardom, putting up a hat-trick in Davis' season opener against Niagara and back-to-back two-goal games against San Diego State and Lindenwood.
Junior - Annie Cimperman
Making seven starts as a sophomore, Cimperman comes into her junior season looking for more.
Despite being limited to three goals all season, Cimperman contributed in other ways, ranking second on the team in draw controls with 37 while picking up three ground balls.
Junior - Reese Loseke
Coming to the Aggies from Solana Beach, California, the third-year player will look to build off a sophomore season where she appeared in 13 games with 13 goals.
In a home contest against Winthrop, Loseke posted her best game of the year, scoring three goals on three shots for her first of two multi-goal games of the season.
Senior - Sophia Gorona
The transfer from UMass Lowell enters 2025 for her fourth season with the lacrosse team.Â
Prior to a junior season where she only appeared in two contests, Gorona had a productive 2023, in which she appeared in seven games with four starts, finishing fifth on the squad with seven draw controls.
Sophomore - Erica Sawicki
After appearing in four contests as a freshman, the sophomore from Columbine High School in Colorado enters year two with the Aggies.
As a three-year starter for the Columbine Rebels, Sawicki dominated the competition, scoring 71 goals in 16 games as a senior, leading her team to the first round of the 5A Colorado Girls Lacrosse State Championships back in 2023.
This mix of experience and youth will serve the Aggies greatly as they navigate their first year in the Big 12 Conference, and it all begins at the UC Davis Health Stadium on February 8 against the University of California.
