TEMPE, Ariz. — UC Davis lacrosse started hot and battled throughout its Big 12 matchup at Arizona State, but the Sun Devils would come away with the win despite the Aggies putting the pressure on in their conference showdown in the desert.

OPENING DRAW
- The Aggies scored at least three goals or more in three out of the four quarters
- UC Davis was strong in winning its battles for loose balls, snagging 18 ground balls to Arizona State's 14
- Jane Fox led the scoring for the Aggies, putting three in the back of the net, while adding four points and one assist

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- UC Davis kept thing close through the opening 15 minutes, setting the tone by bouncing back quickly after allowing an opening duo of goals with Cosand and Tory Agnew pulling the Aggies even nearly halfway through the opening period
- Arizona State added two more in the final half of the period, but with three seconds left Horrocks put one in the back of the net on a fast break assist from Audrey Carr to get UC Davis within one at 4-3 heading into the second quarter
- In the second period, Arizona State pulled away from the Aggies, outscoring UC Davis 8-1 in the quarter to build out a 12-4 lead heading into the break
- Fox would get her three goals in the second half, scoring once in the third and twice in the fourth, but the late production by the Aggie attacker would not be enough for UC Davis to lasso the Sun Devils
