"It was a quality effort tonight by our Aggies. A great experience for our team to go into a hostile gym against a very good team and battle with them. We will learn a lot from this match and continue to grow moving forward."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first set as Purdue first started to pull away, three-straight points by the Aggies got them within 9-12
- A trade of points put it at 11-13, following a kill by sophomore Reese Diersbock, but from there the Boilermakers took control of the set and would eventually get a 18-25 win first set win
- Diersbock's kills to make it 13-16 and 14-17 kept the Aggies within striking distance past the midway point of the second set, but again Purdue pulled away to complete a 19-25 second set win
- Utterback smacked back-to-back kills in the third set as the Aggies battled for a fourth set, getting the score withing 15-17 after the senior's second-straight kill
- But over the final points decided, Purdue finished its three-straight win with a 18-25 third set win
UP NEXT:Â The Aggies next head to Bloomington, Ind., for a meeting against Indiana on Mon., Sept. 2. That match is set to get going at 4 p.m. PT.
