DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis track and field team returned to the friendly confines of the Woody Wilson Track as they hosted Sacramento State for the annual Causeway Classic Dual.
 
On the women's side, sophomore Madison Kackley led the Aggies with two event victories as she won the 1,500 meter run and the 5,000 meters. Freshman Lauren Medley won the 400-meter hurdles. The Aggies won five of seven field events. Seniors Chelsea Daye (long jump) and Brena Videll (hammer throw), junior Kerrington Smith (triple jump), sophomore Sydney McCann (pole vault) and freshman Rebel Tuinukuafe (shot put) each won one event apiece.

Smith's jump of 41-3.75 broke the school record and was over a foot personal best. Daye improved her personal best and fourth place standing all-time with a leap of 19-9.50 in the long jump.
 
On the men's side, junior Corey Moore won two events – the discus throw and the shot put. Juniors Ivan Mendez (800 meter run) and Joseph Monti (400 meter hurdles), sophomore Michael Cooper (1,500 meter run) and freshmen Ethan Brooks (5,000 meter run) and Chris Coles (3,000 meter steeplechase)
 
Sacramento State won the team competition for both the men and the women. The Hornets won the men's team competition 95-77 and the women's team competition 105-88.
 
The Aggies will take part in the Big West Conference Championships. The first championship will take place next weekend with the Multis Championships in Fullerton.
