The UC Davis track and field team kicked off a busy three-meet weekend on Thursday, highlighted by strong Day 1 performances in the multi-events at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational and a solid showing at the prestigious Texas Relays.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (BRUTUS HAMILTON MULTIS)
 
In Berkeley, Justin Reichenberg and Emma San battled through the first half of their respective multi-event competitions.
 
Reichenberg sits in fourth place in the Men's Decathlon after five events with 3,565 points. His day was highlighted by a third-place finish in the Shot Put with a mark of 12.26m. He also posted a strong time of 11.06 in the 100m Dash (6th) and a mark of 6.57m in the Long Jump (7th).
 
On the women's side, San holds seventh place in the Heptathlon with 2,654 points. She started the day strong with a third-place finish in the 100m Hurdles, crossing the line in 14.71. She added an eighth-place finish in the 200m Dash (26.64) and the Shot Put (9.85m).
 
Both Reichenberg and San will conclude their competitions tomorrow at Edwards Stadium.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (TEXAS RELAYS)
 
Under the lights at Mike A. Myers Stadium, Elle Middleton represented the Aggies in the 400m Hurdles. Competing in a loaded field of the nation's top hurdlers, Middleton clocked in at 1:06.63 finish 22nd overall.
 
UP NEXT: The Aggies continue competition tomorrow, Friday, April 3, with squads split across three different meets. Beginning at 8:30 a.m., UC Davis will be represented at the Texas Relays (Austin, Texas), the Brutus Hamilton Invitational (Berkeley, Calif.), and the Mike Fanelli Track Classic (San Francisco, Calif.).
