DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis women's track team heads to The Podium in Spokane to compete in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships. The two-day meet will begin on Friday, Feb. 17.
The Aggies competed in three meets over the course of the indoor season and posted impressive marks over that span.
Dani Barrett enters the 5,000m with the top time in the conference. The sophomore posted a 16:32.34 last season at the Causeway Classic. Also entering the meet with top-5 marks in the distances are
Brianna Weidler (2
nd, 9:41.42) and
Madison Kackley (5
th, 9:52.03) in the 3,000m and
Shae Hill (4
th, 17:29.76) in the 5,000m.
In the field events,
Chelsea Daye has leaped 19-1.50 (5.83m) to rank third in the long jump, while
Kerrington Smith checks in at fourth in the triple jump at 38-9.50 (11.82m). Ashpleet Kler heaved the fourth-best mark in school history with a weight throw of 57-8 (17.58m) to check in at fourth in the conference.
Sierra Meier and
Jayme Hendrickson rank fourth and fifth, respectively in the high jump with a mark of 5-5.25 (1.66m).
The Indoor National Championships will be held on March 10-11 at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
