IRVINE - The Big West Conference this announced their yearly cross country awards. Sierra Atkins was named Women's Athlete of the Year. The award marks the second year in a row that an Aggie has claimed the honor.   
 
Atkins won the Big West Conference Women's Cross Country individual by 17.3 seconds on October 27^th in Nipomo. 

She outdistanced the reigning Woman Athlete of the Year in teammate Brianna Weidler. Atkins had two top-5 finishes at the conference meet, including a runner-up finish.  
 
On September 22^nd, Atkins finished third, in a field of 141, at the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Eugene. She set a personal record for a 5K meet on September 29^th at the Joe Piane Invitational hosted by the University of Notre Dame.  
 
UC Davis will be participating in the NCAA West Regionals on November 10^th at Haggin Oaks Golf Course.
