SACRAMENTO – For the second straight season,
Brianna Weidler posted program bests at the NCAA West Regional. Weidler paced the Aggies to a seventh-place team showing on Friday at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. The men finished 19th on the 10k course.
The women had three runners earn all-region honors and two top-10 finishers, which had never been accomplished by the Aggies before.
Weidler posted the fastest time at the meet in school history with a 19:23.8 and, in doing so, crossed the line with the best finish in program history at sixth overall.
Capping off her cross country career in an Aggie uniform, Big West Champion
Sierra Atkins followed in ninth with a time of 19:36.2.
Dani Barrett joined in the all-region accolades as she covered the 6k course in 20:05.5 to place 22nd.
Madison Kackley was 48th overall with a time of 20:37.9 and
Hope Bergmark scored for the Ags with a 96th place finish at 21:07.7.
Stormy Wallace and
Chloe Arriaga rounded out the Aggies with 134th and 200th place finishes, respectively.
In the men's 10k,
Ethan Brooks paced UCD with a time of 30:41.0 to place 68th overall.
Austin Vasquez crossed the line at 31:07.6 to finish 87th.
Donavan Cheruiyot and
Michael Cooper were close together as Cheruiyot finished 102nd with a time of 31:22.1 and Cooper was 109th at 31:25.8.
Chris Coles placed 139th with a time of 32:03.9 and
Isaiah Galindo followed in 155th with a time of 32:36.3.
Nick Herrmann capped off the Aggies with a 33:31.5 to finish 182nd overall.
